Aaron and Mary -

Helena is a beautiful baby and I read on a baby name site that her name means "Torchlight." And that is just what she is - a shining beacon of God's love in your life. I have complete faith in the Lord that through the skill of surgeons and modern medicine, she will recover completely. We are all praying for you, Aaron and Mary, and for a successful surgery and speedy recovery for little Helena.

PS - Mary, I am praying for you that your c-section recovery is going well and that every day finds you stronger and healthy and back to your old self. Take good care of yourself - Helena needs her mommy in top form.

Love in Christ -

Dear Mary, Aaron and New Baby Helena,
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on your beautiful baby!! Right away I can see the Suomala family resemblence and she is just sweet!
The long wait is finally over and your future as a "family" has begun. I just learned of your blog this morning seeing it in my e-mail from Gladys. First I felt a lot of dismay realizing the seriousness of Helena's heart problem and subsequent surgeries. Little do we know carrying our babies what we may have to face in the future. We hope and pray for Helena and you that everything will go well, Mary will recover her C-section and not be too uncomfortable. It's unfortunate that you had to have the C--so much of your energy will be needed for yourself and needless to say that you want to be with Helena as much as possible. Hard as it seems, we never know or understand what life will present us and what God's plans are for each of us, but our thoughts and prayers are with you. I can see that you are loving and enjoying your precious baby. This is such a special time in your life even with the worries you have along with it. You are so lucky to be surrounded by your family! May God bless your little one.
Love, Fran, Dan and family

Good Morning Aaron, Mary & Helena! My Niece, Gail Zurek, called my mom and asked for prayers for your precious little one. I live in Indio, CA which is 80 miles north of the Mexican border and about 90 miles from the Arizona border. I hope you can feel the prayers coming to you from the very, very southwest of our Great nation! It sure sounds like God has surrounded you with some of His best angels and that the Dr. will have Helena's heart back in top form soon. Your pictures are wonderful! What a beautiful family you are. Take care and know that the West Coast is praying for you and will continue to pray always. . .

Love,
Annie Croudy

Helena Catherine!!! you are so so beautiful and we can't wait to meet you when all the action settles down. your mom and dad are very special people, beloved to us and to many others. you and your mom and dad are constantly in our minds and on our lips in prayer. we know that before they know it, you will be a bouncy, blue-eyed, most likely blondish-haired, whip-smart, waffle-cookie eating, milk guzling and most-fashionable baby welder.
we love you already!!!

Aaron and Mary, Welcome to parenthood. Children come with a lot of emotions; worry, fear, anticipation, joy, love....it's all bundled in that 7 lbs., now that's power huh! It's comforting to know that as faithful parents we have the strength of God to carry us through hard times. Helena is beautiful! Cherish each moment as she grows, it happens all too fast.
